World Challenge

Each World Challenge expedition aims to incorporate a substantial service activity.

Students went to Tanzania in 2001 and carried out community service activities at schools close to the base camp (Arusha/Moshi), namely general building improvement works involving labouring, floor laying, brickwork and plastering - each lasting for 7 days. They took £2000 (which bought a lot in Africa) and put it all into the projects. Leftover money went to subsidising attempts to get electricity into the school.
