PSHE

We are beginning to explore ways in which our Outreach work may complement and/or provide themes for our PSHE programme and are currently looking at national awareness days. In the recent past we have had assemblies taken by visitors from: Macmillan, a local shelter for the homeless and Opportunity International, raising awareness of the social concerns we have supported financially. Our own Amnesty students have led an assembly and this built on the visit of a speaker from Amnesty who addressed the 6th Form as part of the Global Citizenship programme. We are currently tying out a new course – Giving Nation – with our Year 9 students, which deals with issues like what is charity, what is voluntary work, and so on.
