Other Events
Periodically we are involved in one-off special events, some of which are recorded below. Here is brief summary, but you can go on to the individual event page to see pictures and get more niformation.
CHRISTMAS PARTY
Each December we host a Christmas Party for over 100 elderly visitors. They are treated to a full Christmas lunch, enjoy a programme of entertainmnt provided by the Community Service and/or Youth Action students and Headmaster, and receive gifts from Santa. A great time is had by all.
SLEEPOUT
In December 2006, over 100 visitors slept out overnight on our concreted play area to experience what the homeless face every night. The event was co-organized by The King's Arms Project and BMS. As a consciousness raising event it worked! As a fund raising excercise it was tremendously successful, raising over £5,000. plans for the December 2007
'sleepout' are under way.
JEWISH WAY OF LIFE EXHIBITION 2006
In the autumn of 2006 we hosted the Jewish way of Life Exhibition. Over 2000 visitors, many of them children, attended a free exhibition in our King Room, thus expereincing insights into the Jewish Way of Life.
MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING 2006
In September 2006, our PA, assisted by some of our students, hosted a Macmillan Coffeee Morning in our new Rutherford Building. It raised over £2000 for a most deserving cause.
Each year the Harpur Trust arranges a summer party for the elderly at one of our schools. It is the turn of BMS to host the 2007 event. Visitors enjoy a tea and entertainment provided by our students. The pictures speak for themselves!
