Duke of Edinburgh
Students doing Duke of Edinburgh at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels undertake a period of Service, which varies in length of commitment depending on the level (3 months at Bronze, 6 months at Silver).
Part of the Duke of Edinburgh concept is that it is a regular commitment over a period of time, rather than something which can be achieved quickly. Service can vary from attending a course run by the emergency services, to voluntary work with children, charity shops or old people. The service must be voluntary, and a regular commitment over the specified period of time. Students may also use their service activity to count towards MV hours.
2007 - 2008
We currently have about 20 students working towards Gold, 45 working towards Silver, and about 80 for Bronze.
